What happened to Philippines is a disaster and there is as much help needed as possible.
I decided to try get some money for it and make a donation to one of the helporganisations. I have not decided which one but it will be one which mainly helps the children.
So what to do...
...many of you know I have made a calendar for 2014 and I decided to donate a minimum of 5 Euro for each sold calendar. e.g. For the purchase of the big one I will be able to donate about 10 Euro.
What's important...you have to purchase the calendar through this little shop I made for this purpose: http://michael-rutta.jimdo.com/ only by purchasing through this shop I will be able to do the donation. Payment will be with paypal.
On this site you will find more information about the project, the calendar, about the purchase and shipping.
For all people who think helping is good and I want to support this but don't want a calendar you can make a donation of 5 Euro as often you like on this site.

In the news und mein Kalender

Pictures from Photowalk in Scheveningen and Rotterdam
On 21th and 22th of august I was on a photowalk in Scheveningen and Rotterdam together with +Anne-Marie Janssen and +Stefan Kierek . We had so much fund and we did so many great pictures so that I like to show you some of them. I recommend to visit the G+ sites of my two companions to see some other great pictures from the same location but through different eyes - it's worth it.

Legoland and other adventures
I was on a holiday trip with my son. We visited "LEGOLAND/Germany and made a day trip to Ulm/Germany. In "Ulm" we climbed up the "Ulmer Muenster" which is the highest church in the world with 161 metres. We could climb up to 143 metres and had an awesome view and we both righted against our fear of heights. I made some pictures and here are the first to see.
We had a hotel in Lauingen/Germany a little town with about 10.000 citizens.

2+ anniversary photowalk in Maastricht/Netherland
Yesterday I was on a great photowalk in Maastricht/Netherland. It was an amazing day with many nice people in a lovely city. The whole thing was planned from the lovely "Kroens" +Annelies Kroen and his husband +Nanno Kroen Thank you very much for this day.
This two pictures were made on my way to the car right before leaving Maastricht. The light was pretty amazing and it was really hard to leave and not take some more pictures.
Here is a picture of my beloved "Medienhafen" in Düsseldorf I find in my archives.

Not much time for taking pictures but I have done a few ones.
This one is in the Medienhafen Düsseldorf. I did it for an HDR 3 shot bracket but this one turns out to be pretty cool as a stand alone picture.
Mostly done in photoshop I did the toning in lightroom where I added some structure as well.

The next one I did while being on a street party in Düsseldorf. The weather was ugly but this scene was amazing.

I need your help and support.
There is a contest called "Große Sehnsucht Deutschland" where the best 12 pictures will be printed in a great calendar at the end of the contest.
My picture made it to the last 30 and now there is the final voting. You have to pic your 12 favourite pictures and it would be great to include mine. It is the picture number 18 "Medienhafen Düsseldorf" (like George Cloney said "What else!") If you could do me the favour that would be great.
For all voters are prices to win and for every calendar that will be sold there are 3 Euro charity for children.

"Schloss Benrath" my first pictures.
Last week I was at "Schloss Benrath" here in my hometown Düsseldorf. I did a few shots but I missed most of the area surrounding the castle. There is a big park behind the buildings so I have to go there one more time but for now I want to show you two pictures from my first "Schloss benrath" series.

Last Sunday I was on a photo walk here in Düsseldorf. It was a simultaneous walk in different cities with the same theme: "Water in your city". Other cities were Berlin and Munich. If you have a look at my G+ profile you will find a link to the different events.
Beside the water theme I had much fun with taking some other pictures and here are two of them.

Don't post a picture when you're not satisfied with it.
Today I wanna tell another thing I got to know about me.
Sometimes it occurs that I work on a picture and at the end I feel that I'm not satisfied with the result and start thinking about posting it on my blog or G+ or whatever and to many times I posted it just because I thought I have to post something and then I was not satisfied because I posted crap :-) Weired I know.
So I stoped doing this. If I'm not satisfied with the result I delete it and do it again and more often I save it and have a look a few hours later or after sleeping a night and then I decide to post or to do ot.
Any comments?
Here a few pictures from the last days.

Trust yourself when taking pictures.
I want to write a few words about a thing I recognized about me the last times when I was out for photographing.
When I was back home and reviewed my pictures it occurs pretty often that I did multiple captures (I mean dozens of pictures) of the same motive with different compositions and at the end the first or maybe second try was the best for me.
So I started trusting myself and made fewer pictures of the same motive with adjusting things like shutter speed, aperture, Iso for a proper exposure and stopped making little changes for composition. It runs very well and gives me more time to try completely other ways of getting the motive on the sensor or to find other motives to capture.
For me it seems that when I see a motive I very often have a spontaneous idea of how to get it right in that moment and then a process of thinking about it starts and let my intuition die.
What is your experience with that?
Here is a picture which is a good example for it.
I have multiple other ways on my computer but in the end this was my first try and I only adjusted the tower between the poles in its position which was a case of millimetres.
So again - What is your experience with that?

Posting in english or german?
I have to make a decision what language is the best for my blog. I recognized that there are more people from outside Germany looking at my blog and on Google+ the common language is English. So I start posting in English.
